Frequently Asked Questions - Wedding Stationery

Is there a minimum order?
We have no minimum order you can order as little or as much as you like.  Orders over £500 qualify for free postage.

How long does it take to produce an order?
Production time takes approximately 6 weeks depending on the size and availability of your order.

Do you provide samples?
We do provide samples unfortunately due to demand for this service we have to charge for this service.  Samples can be ordered by either printing out our sample order form, filing this in and then emailing or sending this to us together with relevant payment or you can order samples directly on line.

When should I place my order?
Your invitations should be sent out to your guests approximately 12 weeks before the date of the wedding, you will need to allow time to approve proofs etc so ideally invitations should be ordered 6 months before your wedding.  If you are sending out Save the Date cards these can be sent as soon as you know the date of the wedding and can be ordered 6 weeks before you want to send them.

Do I have to order everything from you in one go?
No we are happy to accept your order for anything from our range.  You can just order your Save the Date cards and then place a later order for invitations, order of service etc.  Please be aware though each separate order will be charged a postage fee.

What is the order process?
To order please fill out our order form and either post or email this to us.  A 50% deposit is required upon placement of an order, once this is received we will commence work on the proofs which will be sent to you for approval.

The balance payment is due on when you return the signed proofs to us.  You order will then be produced and dispatched to you within six weeks.

Please note for orders under £100 or if required in less than six weeks full payment is required at the time of ordering.

What if I require extra items at the last minute?
That's no problem at all, as long as there are no changes to the agreed proof let us have your requirements together with the payment and we will dispatch them to you asap.  However, you should be aware that slight variations can occur between different batches of card and ribbon etc, so it might be advisable to order some spares.

I am not sure about the wording for my Order of Service but want to place an order.
You will need to get your wording for the Order of Service approved by your church/venue.  Place the order and let us have the approved wording as soon as you have it.

I have seen a design I like, can I have in my wedding colours?
Yes we want to ensure that your wedding stationery is perfect in every way.  Just provide us with details of the colour/s you require and we will endeavour to match them.

I have my own idea for my wedding stationery, can you make them for me?
The answer is probably yes - depending on the design.  We offer a bespoke design service.  There is a £30 fee for this service but this is refundable against your placed order.  Please remember to allow extra time for the design process.

Can you print the guest names for me on the Invitations and Place Cards?
Yes of course we charge 15p extra per Invitation/Place Card for this service and you will need to provide us with a list of your guests.

What if I have to cancel my order or reduce numbers?
We appreciate that sometimes things change.  If you notify us before the proofs have been submitted for approval then we shall retain 50% of the deposit and refund you 50%.  If an order is cancelled after proofs have been submitted then we shall retain the full deposit paid.  If an order is cancelled once full production of your order has commenced then we shall retain the deposit and final payment.

What if I am unhappy with my order when I receive it?
We take customer satisfaction very seriously at Dotty Dreams - if you are unhappy with your order please contact us immediately to discuss the matter and we will endeavour to put things right.

How much to you charge for delivery?
£3.50   for orders up to   £19.99
£5.00   for orders from    £20.00 - £49.99
