The History of Wedding Favours

The wedding favour can be traced back centuries and originated in Europe. They were originally gifts for the guests of weddings, christenings, anniversaries and birthdays. Originally known as 'bombonières', they were traditionally used as gifts by the more wealthy Europeans.

'Bombonières' were originally gifts of precious stones but as the centuries moved on they were slowly replaced by a present of sugared almonds. The sugared almonds represent health, wealth, happiness, fertility and long life, signifying a blessing from the bride to her guests.

These days a wedding favour can come in almost any form and can be made to match your colour theme, budget and personality!

Wedding favours are an exciting way to thank your guests and an excellent way to show off your individuality and creativity on the day. Your guests will really appreciate a little imagination for their special gift and it is an excellent memento of your special day.
